Marie Eldridge named Sewanee police chief

Close

Sewanee Vice-Chancellor John McCardell today announced the appointment of Marie Eldridge as police chief. Eldridge’s appointment is effective immediately.

Eldridge has worked at the university since 1999. She has served as interim chief of police since August 1, when former chief Robert White retired from the university.

“After a thorough search process, Marie emerged as clearly the strongest candidate for the position,” said McCardell. “She has earned the confidence of her working colleagues as well as others on the campus and in the greater Sewanee community.”
