Greening of the Chapel; Lessons and Carols

The Greening of All Saints’ Chapel takes place Dec. 7 in preparation for the Festival of Lessons and Carols to be held Dec. 8 and 9.

Members of the Sewanee Community are invited to join in the Greening of All Saints’ Chapel beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7. All levels of experience are welcome.

Sewanee’s 59th annual Festival of Lessons and Carols will be celebrated at three services in All Saints’ Chapel, two on Dec. 8 (4 p.m. and 7 p.m.), and one on Dec. 9 (4 p.m.). All tickets have been reserved. However, walk-up tickets may be available on the day of the service at Convocation Hall. For full details, visit the Lessons and Carols website.

Other campus music venues will be open special hours for Lessons and Carols. The Ralston Listening Library will welcome visitors during open house hours Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.

Breslin Tower, the home of the Bentley Bells, will be open for tours from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, followed by the Sewanee change ringers ringing a quarter peal (1260 changes) of Plain Bob Doubles with a Cover at 3 p.m.
