All are invited to attend a music listening party with music by Meredith Lawrence, C’13, and Drake Schutt, C’13. Lawrence and Schutt composed songs for an independent study with James Carlson last semester, and they're ready to share their work!

Lawrence describes her work as "an experiment with the combination of computer-generated sounds (both real-sounding instruments and synthesizers) all played through a keyboard and live vocals." Her influences include Florence and the Machine, Ben Folds, Muse, Bassnectar, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, and Mat Kearney. In Schutt's independent study, he worked on a single track and also scored a short film. His goal was "to combine electronic and acoustic aesthetics into something new but listenable." In the short film, he explored abandoned structures in our area, highlighting the interaction between humans and the environment.
