The Sewanee men's and women’s lacrosse teams and women’s tennis team have all been selected to play in their respective NCAA tournaments, and golfer Emily Javadi received an individual bid. The lacrosse teams begin play on Wednesday; the tennis team will play this weekend; and the golf championship begins May 14.
Sewanee claimed four conference titles - including women's lacrosse, men's lacrosse, women's tennis and men's tennis - in SAA championship matches played on the Mountain.
Sewanee senior student-athletes Sara Neil and Phillip Link have been awarded NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships. The scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically and who are in their final year of intercollegiate athletic competition.
The SAA men's and women's lacrosse semifinal pairings are set, and Sewanee will host both the men's and women's conference tournaments this coming weekend April 26 - 28.
At an April 6 event to “celebrate Sewanee baseball” during a double-header against Millsaps, Vice-Chancellor John McCardell noted the Montgomery Field improvements made so far and praised the student-athletes and their parents for their dedication.
