The Department is pleased to announce that the work in psychology of six senior majors has been deemed of sufficient merit to award their degrees with Honors in Psychology.
As part of Scholarship Sewanee, History Honors' candidates Benjamin Axelrod, Brian Fennessy, Brian Easley, Erin Olbon, and Elizabeth Myers will present their theses at 2:45 p.m. in Walsh-Ellett 210 on Friday, April 27.
The University of the South's 2011-12 academic year comes to a close May 11, 12, and 13 with three ceremonies marking graduation weekend on the Mountain. Commencement and Baccalaureate ceremonies will be held for students from the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Letters, and The School of Theology. If you can't be on the Mountain, you can watch online.
The Society of Sewanee Scholars (SOSS) held its annual Spring “Best Teaching Practices” dinner last week at the Sewanee Inn. Teachers were honored for contributing significantly to the learning experiences of members of the SOSS.
The spring season brings announcements of awards, honors and scholarships for Sewanee students. New updates April 30: awards for Assistant Professor Melody Crowder-Meyer, Benedykt Pleszczynski, C'12, and Joanna Parkman, C’14. Also, announcements of Fulbrights; Phi Beta Kappa initiates; Beecken Scholars; Watson Fellowships; a national journalism award; and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.
